WHOEVER SAVES ONE LIFE, SAVES THE WORLD ENTIRE
RIGHT NOW, A CHILD IS PRAYING FOR YOU This is Andy. He’s 8 years old. And he’s running out of time.
In a remote village called Olmaroroi, nestled in the rugged hills of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, there lives a boy named Andy.
This is a place of red dust and scattered acacia trees, where the nearest town is a 30-minute motorcycle ride away along bumpy dirt roads.
There is no clinic here.
No running water.
No electricity at night except for the flicker of cooking fires.
But every single night, a small boy prays.
Andy was born with a massive facial tumor — a benign growth that began small but never stopped growing.
It started near his jaw when he was an infant.
By age five, it had already distorted the shape of his face. By age seven, it began to press against his airway. Now, at eight years old: He can barely eat solid food. He struggles to breathe when he lies down to sleep. He cannot attend the local school — not because he isn’t smart, but because other children are frightened by his appearance. They whisper. They point. They run away.
But Andy? Andy still smiles.
And every night, as the sun sets over the Olmaroroi hills, he whispers the prayer his mother taught him: “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name…” He doesn’t fully understand all the words. But he understands faith.
And he believes — with every labored breath — that God has not forgotten him.
🙏 A Mother’s Love. A Mother’s Agony.
Andy’s mother, Amina, walks two hours each way along dusty paths just to fetch water from the nearest borehole.
She has sold their only goat.
She has borrowed from neighbors who have nothing themselves.
She has wept in the dark so Andy wouldn’t hear.
But she has never stopped believing. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,” she whispers each morning as she gently wipes the drool from her son’s chin — drool he cannot control because the tumor has begun to affect his ability to swallow. “God did not give me this child to take him away so soon. Someone, somewhere, will help us. I pray for that person every day.” That person could be you.
💔 The Truth No One Wants to Say
Andy is suffocating.
Slowly.
Quietly.
Invisibly to the world.
The tumor that disfigures his face is not cancerous — but it is deadly.
It grows inch by inch, year by year, pressing against his trachea.
Doctors who examined him by photograph (the only way aid workers could consult specialists) said the same thing: “Without surgery within the next year, this child will not survive.” But here’s the thing:
That surgery exists.
The hospital in Nairobi exists.
The surgeons are ready.
The only thing missing is you.
