Help Hilary Fight PEComa — She's the First Case Ever Seen Here
She already beat cancer once. Now, at 8, she's fighting a relapse so rare almost nothing is known about it in children. Save Hilary from a rare relapse.
Just a while ago, Hilary had already beaten cancer once. Her family celebrated. They believed the hardest part was finally behind them.
Then the pain came back. This time, it had a name almost nobody had ever heard before: PEComa
She is only 8 years old — and this is her second fight.
💔 PEComa is so rare that doctors estimate it affects only one or two people out of every million — and almost always adults, not children.
💔 Hilary is the first child at her hospital's cancer center ever diagnosed with this disease. Not the tenth case. Not the fifth. The first.
💔 That means there is no established protocol waiting for her. Her medical team is reaching out to specialists in the United States, because that is where most of what little is known about treating this cancer in children actually exists.
Hilary already knows what chemotherapy feels like. The needles. The exhaustion that never fully goes away. Losing her hair. Being too weak to play like other 8-year-olds. She survived all of that once. Now her body is asking her to go through it again — against a disease her own doctors are still learning how to fight.
Her parents already gave everything they had the first time she got sick. There's nothing left to give.
At One Hope Foundation, we refuse to let a child be left without treatment because her diagnosis is too rare for anyone to be prepared for it. But we cannot start this protocol without you.
